2002 Roadtrek 190 Versatile - 5/8/22 - Engine Cleanup

Post by kurtfranz »

Cleaned the engine compartment today. Took about 2 hours to complete but it cleaned up nicely – not bad for a twenty year old vehicle.

However, I noticed that the battery isolater is not the original unit. Wonder if that has anything to do with as to why the volt gauge in the dash is constantly reading on the low side. Usually a normal reading on the gauge is 14 volts with the engine running. Mine is more like 13 – it sits about “11 o clock instead of noon”. The battery is 6 months old, tests at 12.6 across the terminals, and the alternator is brand new. That is why I am thinking it may be the isolater.
