Went out after work today and worked on the rear passenger window. I was on a mission and finally got the window removed. I could not believe the amount of urethane sealer that was applied all around the weatherstripping - which is now in rough shape due to all of the slicing with the razor knife. Also the glass is loaded with hard dry sealer that I will have to remove somehow. It will be a slow process.

If you are unfamiliar with these windows, the way they work is that there is a top hinge bracket that is glued to the top of the window which fits in the window frame below the top piece of glass. Also there are two metal channels one on each side of the window in which the levers that raise and lower the window are housed. What happens is that these components often become unglued and the window would fall out. On my window both of the channels were attached to the levers but unglued from the glass. However, the top hinge was still securely fastened. What I do not understand is why the previous owner did not have the window repaired instead of gluing it shut. There was no need to do that. I have a feeling that I will find the same thing on the drivers side. I hope the hinge is intact on there as well. The window behind the driver seat is really glued on there - I will probably write that one off and leave it be because I can get some air flow up front by cracking the two windows on the side doors - which have screens.

Really need to figure out a good way to get all of that sealer out of there.
